Commonhall Social Named as One of the Top Pubs for Craft Beer in the U.K
Commonhall Street Social in Chester city centre has been named by StagWeb as one of the Top 41 Pubs in the U.K. for Craft Beer - and the only venue in the local area to take the title!
The review says - "This ain’t no pub! Yes, it does serve alcohol but that’s where all comparisons end. The Commonhall Street Social is at the forefront of the new trend of drinking houses taking over the nation. It’s where the cool, slightly bookish kids meet to talk about life, love and literature, swapping great ideas while sampling handpicked beers and delicious food from the rule-breaking owners."
Tucked away in a city centre side street, Commonhall Street Social is a hidden gem, owned by Chester Race Company, who also own Chester Racecourse, one of the top tourist attractions in the region. Loved by locals and visitors alike, this quirky bar’s emphasis is (as the name suggests) on bringing people together through food and drink.
Behind the bar you’ll find a variety of beverages, which includes their impressive selection of craft beers from around the globe. There is also a mouth-watering selection of street food inspired dishes to soak up all the extra ale.
Stew Etcell, manager of Commonhall Social says; “We are thrilled to be included in this round up of great bars. We’re lucky enough to work with some amazing brewers such as Shindigger, Lervig, Heavy Industry, Tiny Rebel, Wild Beer Company, Cloudwater, Northern Monk and more – we just live for great beer!”
In true beer garden tradition, to the outside of Commonhall is a secluded terrace, with a ping-pong table and chilled out environment including heaters for when the weather is cooler and a BBQ for the summer months.
It's the perfect location to sit back and pour a beer - cheers!
